Uzbekistan's largest ski resort and Central Asia's most modern, officially opened in December 2019 in the Western Tian Shan and described by Lonely Planet as the «next-season St Moritz». It was founded by the Uzbek businessman Rashvan Ubaidullaev, with about €100m invested in the first phase and an Andorra-based company designing and running it. A gondola of about 2 km climbs from the base, followed by lifts and runs that have grown year by year. In winter it draws skiers and beginners, with a learning area that suits families; in summer the gondola runs from 8 am to 7 pm, taking visitors up for walks, views and restaurants among mountains and red-earth valleys. In the 2025-26 season an adult day ski pass cost 320,000 som on weekdays and 390,000 at weekends, according to the resort's site, and visitors report a round-trip gondola ride at about 220,000 som.
