A vast forest of giant bamboo in Anji County, under Huzhou, among the green hills of the province's south-west. It is counted the largest bamboo-culture eco-tourism area in south-east China, and the famous fights on the bamboo tops in «Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon» were filmed here. Tall bamboo stems cover the slopes as far as the eye can see, crossed by walking paths and rest stops, with a viewing tower in the middle looking over a green «sea» whose tops sway in the wind; it stays cool and shady even in summer. Tickets cost about CNY 55, open from 8 am to 4.30 pm, to 5 pm in summer, last entry an hour before closing, per visitor guides; it lies about 60 km from both Huzhou and Hangzhou.
