Beach Park is a water park and resort on Porto das Dunas beach in Aquiraz, about fifteen minutes from Fortaleza, and one of Brazil's best-known water parks. The complex covers 170,000 m², 35,000 of them for the aqua park, draws more than 1.7 million visitors a year, and was rated the world's second-best water park in 2014. Its most famous ride is Insano, «Crazy», a 41-metre slide on which riders reach up to 105 km/h in about five seconds, alongside wave pools and gentler rides for small children. The complex also has a beach and several hotels and resorts. The park runs 11:00-17:00, with ticket booths opening at 10:30. Day tickets start at about R$230 bought online in advance and rise to about R$325 at the gate, with prices varying by date, so book ahead and check the operating calendar.
