Berovo Lake is a freshwater lake in eastern North Macedonia, near the town of Berovo, about 6 km southeast of Berovo and 34 km northeast of Strumica in a straight line, in a forested mountain area. The lake is surrounded by evergreen and deciduous forest, protected by the Macedonian forestry police, and illegal cutting of the trees is prohibited. Many locals come to the lake to swim, fish and sail, making it a summer escape for the area. The calm blue water spreads between hills covered in dense evergreen and broadleaf forest, with the trees mirrored on its surface on still days. Grassy patches and small picnic spots line its shores, and the place feels far from the bustle of the cities. Visitors swim in summer, fish, picnic and camp along the shore, and walk trails through the surrounding forest. The area is quiet and uncrowded; the lake makes a trip from Berovo or Strumica, and summer is the best time to visit.
