Bitou Cape is a headland in Ruifang District, New Taipei, and the northeasternmost cape of Taiwan, about 7 km east of Jiufen in a straight line. Its name means tip of the nose in Chinese. The cape was shaped by sea erosion, with sea cliffs, undercut bluffs and flat rock platforms laid bare by the water. The Bitoujiao Lighthouse stands at its tip, and a looping walking trail runs around it from Bitou Fishing Port to Bitou Elementary School. Cliffs banded in yellow and brown rise above clear blue sea, fronted by flat rock platforms where the waves break. Grass covers the top of the cape, and the trail looks out over the winding northeast coast and green mountains. Visitors walk the loop trail between the cliffs and the lighthouse, stopping at viewpoints for photos. The trail is exposed to sun and wind, so bring water and a hat; the cape can be reached by bus from Taipei Main Station.
