The tallest structure in the world at close to eight hundred and twenty-eight metres, completed in 2010. Its margin over the second-tallest tower stayed large for more than a decade, which is what made it Dubai's primary visual signature. There are three observation levels: floors 124 and 125, which are the most visited, and floor 148, At The Top Sky, which is higher, clearly more expensive and less crowded. The gap in price is considerable, and the gap in the view is smaller than the difference in height suggests. The most useful practical advice concerns timing. Sunset tickets cost more and sell out weeks ahead, but the smarter move is booking about an hour before sunset: you go up in daylight, watch the sun go down, and stay while the city lights up — three views on one ticket. Haze and dust obscure the view on many days in summer, and that is neither compensated nor refunded. Winter is far clearer. The Dubai Fountain below the tower is entirely free and its shows run frequently in the evening.

The higher deck is quieter and much dearer, and the view differs less than the height gap suggests.

Floors 124 and 125 satisfy most visitors and give the full view for far less. Floor 148 adds height, quiet and faster entry, but the price multiplies while the view does not change proportionally. If budget matters, take 124 and spend the difference on better timing.
There is no guarantee, but winter from November to March is far clearer than summer, when haze and dust dominate. Check visibility on the day before going up if you can, since there is no refund if the horizon is obscured.
