The Ipiranguinha waterfall lies in the district of the same name about seven kilometres from central Ubatuba, near the SP-125 road down from the mountains. It is one of the easiest falls to reach from town, so people come on sunny days for a break from the beaches. The trail is short, flat and safe after parking, suitable for families with children. The fall is about seven metres high, with shallow pools of clear water good for bathing and some deeper stretches; the wet rocks are slippery, so take care. There are no facilities on site, so bring water and food. The fall is on private land, and a blog mentions a parking fee that may have changed; check before going. Don't confuse it with the taller Água Branca fall in the same district.
