The Véu de Noiva, or «Bridal Veil», is a waterfall near the village of Itaitu in the municipality of Jacobina, Bahia, in the Serra da Jacobina at the northern end of the Chapada Diamantina region. It is considered the finest of Itaitu's waterfalls, part of a cluster of forty-two falls around the village. The water drops sixty-four metres and forms natural pools at the bottom that are good for swimming, while at the top small pools and rocks look out over the surrounding landscape, and the cliff is also used for abseiling. Access is fairly easy: a dirt road passable by small cars leads to the trailhead, followed by a short walk of about half an hour. That makes it a good family outing, and the day can be spent exploring Itaitu's other waterfalls. Take care on wet rocks and avoid swimming after heavy rain.
