The Carl Weege Immigrant House Museum is in Pomerode, Santa Catarina, a town settled by German immigrants. The building was part of the estate of the Pomeranian immigrant Carl Weege, who moved as a child with his family to the area that later became Pomerode. Listed by Pomerode's city government, it is an authentic German Fachwerk house, an exposed timber frame filled with brick, with traditional decoration from the German settlement of the region. The museum keeps and displays old furniture, a water wheel, a shed with a sugar-cane press and the old mill building, painting a picture of the first German settlers' lives. Some organised tours include the house in programmes on the region's German roots. Sources give different addresses and we found no official hours, so call the museum before going.
