Casa do Sol, the «House of the Sun», is where the Brazilian poet and writer Hilda Hilst lived from 1966 until 2004, on land that was part of her mother's São José farm on the edge of Campinas. It is now home to the Hilda Hilst Institute, which keeps the archive of her work. In the 1970s and 1980s the house drew illustrious visitors, among them the composer José Antônio de Almeida Prado and the writers Lygia Fagundes Telles and Caio Fernando Abreu. Campinas listed it as heritage in October 2011, and after 2020 it closed for a full restoration of its interiors and exteriors. The house has reopened for visits and cultural events, with guided tours showing the rooms where Hilst wrote some of her works, at about R$100, booked in advance on the official website.
