Chachín Waterfall drops about thirty metres on the Chachín river inside Lanín National Park, some sixty kilometres west of San Martín de los Andes. It is surrounded by dense, damp Valdivian rainforest, with tall trees, mosses and ferns, so the white water pours through a deep green heart; it is one of the park's loveliest sights. It lies on the gravel road toward Hua Hum, which starts at the outflow of Lake Lácar and follows Lake Nonthué and the Chachín river to Lake Queñi. A short footpath with information boards branches off the road to a viewpoint facing the falls, a short, easy walk among the trees. It can also be reached by boat to a small jetty on Lake Nonthué, two kilometres away. The walk is easy and family-friendly; the national park entry fee may be asked, ARS 35,000 for foreigners since June 2026.
