Sanya's largest duty-free shopping complex, opened in 2009 at Dadonghai and moved in 2014 to Haitang Bay with more than 70,000 square metres of floor space; it is run by China Duty Free Group and draws shoppers from all over China. It gathers a large number of international brands in perfume, cosmetics, watches, bags, jewellery, sunglasses and fashion, along with restaurants and cafés, and its huge building stands close to the hotels and beach of Haitang Bay. It works under Hainan's offshore duty-free scheme: every traveller aged 16 or over holding a ticket to leave Hainan by air, train or ship may buy up to CNY 100,000 a year, with most purchases collected at the point of departure; since November 2025 the scheme also covers travellers leaving directly for abroad. Entry is free and the complex opens from 10:00 to 22:30, per visitor guides. Bring your passport and departure ticket when paying, and compare prices first, as some differ little from airport duty-free shops.
