The Cultural Centre of the Peoples of the Amazon is an arts space in Manaus opened on 21 May 2007 where three major avenues meet, on the site once known as the «Bola da Suframa». It aims to showcase and spread the knowledge produced by the nine countries that share the Amazon. Its main space is the «Museu do Homem do Norte», showing artefacts and multimedia displays on the Amazon's Indigenous peoples, conceived by the sociologist Gilberto Freyre to portray everyday life in Brazil's North. The centre also has a dome of about 150 seats, a 70-seat auditorium and a large performance arena for thousands of spectators, which hosts the Amazonas folklore fair that opened the cultural season in May 2026. Entry is free, visits are booked through Amazonas state's culture portal, and sources differ on hours, Tuesday to Saturday or Thursday to Sunday mornings; check before going.
