Cerro Bayo is a mountain and ski resort about nine kilometres from the town of Villa La Angostura, on the north shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, amid temperate rainforest in a land of many lakes. It has about 25 runs and 16 lifts. The best of it is the view: from the top Lake Nahuel Huapi spreads out with its arms and islands, the Quetrihué peninsula where the Arrayanes forest grows, and snowy peaks on the horizon. It is a small, calm resort compared with Catedral in Bariloche, good for families. In winter visitors ski and snowboard; in summer the lifts run up to viewpoints, for walking and mountain biking among wildflowers. Prices vary between seasons.
