A green hill rising above the eastern end of Piriápolis, giving the finest view of the town: the crescent bay and its sandy beach, the promenade and the Argentino Hotel, the green hills behind and the ocean stretching to the horizon. Visitors reach the top by an old chairlift from the promenade, a short ride over trees and houses, by car on a winding road or on foot by a trail. At the summit are restaurants and cafés with panoramic terraces and small craft shops. The summit is a favourite sunset spot, as the town and bay turn gold and pink and then the promenade lights come on. From the other side of the hill there is a view over the rocky coast and open ocean. The chairlift may stop outside summer or in strong winds, so check before going.
