A nature park on the west coast of Cozumel, Mexico's largest inhabited Caribbean island and one of the world's most famous diving spots for its clear coral reefs. The park combines a snorkelling beach, a natural lagoon and a botanical garden in one place. Right off the beach is a shallow coral reef for snorkelling among colourful fish. In the middle of the park is a small lagoon linked to the sea by underground tunnels, which gives the park its Maya name, «little sea». The park also has a botanical garden of regional plants, replicas of traditional Maya houses, a crocodile farm, and loungers, shades and hammocks on the sand. It offers dolphin and sea-lion programmes at extra cost, which some visitors prefer to skip. Many cruise passengers come here, so it gets crowded on ship days; ask about the schedule. Entry covers the basic facilities, and gear is rented.
