The El Valle area's best-known waterfall, dropping about thirty-five metres over a dark, moss-covered rock face in dense rainforest, the water splitting into white threads between the rocks amid spray and cool air. It lies in a private nature reserve on the edge of town, where visitors follow a short trail among giant trees, tropical plants and flowers to a lookout facing the falls. The reserve also has hanging bridges over the forest and zip lines for the adventurous. Below the falls runs a clear rocky river with a natural pool, and a separate pool for swimming in the cool river water. Birds and butterflies are plentiful in the forest along the trail. The trail is short and fairly easy, but rocks near the water are slippery. Combine it with the Sleeping Indian hill and the town market in one day.
