Circuito Chico, the Small Circuit, is Bariloche's best-known drive or bike ride: a loop that leaves town along the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi westwards to the Llao Llao peninsula, then returns through forest and small lakes, in about 60 kilometres. There are many stops on the way: the Cerro Campanario chairlift, one of the finest viewpoints in the area; Puerto Pañuelo, where boats leave for Isla Victoria; the historic Llao Llao hotel on its hill; and Bahía López. The most famous is the Punto Panorámico, a terrace on a bend of the road looking over lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno, the peninsula and the snow-capped mountains. You can drive the loop in half a day with stops, take the city buses towards Llao Llao, or rent a bike if you enjoy the climbs and descents. The road is free; the chairlift and boats charge.

Yes, many rent bikes along the road, but there are repeated climbs and descents, so it suits regular cyclists.
