The Enrique Udaondo complex is a group of provincial museums in the city of Luján, housed in colonial-era buildings by its main square, including the old town council. Its two main museums are the Colonial and Historical Museum, telling the region's story from Spanish rule to the nineteenth century through furniture, clothing, weapons and documents, and the Transport Museum. The Transport Museum shows horse-drawn carriages from different eras, La Porteña, the first steam locomotive to run in Argentina in 1857, and the seaplane Plus Ultra, which flew across the Atlantic from Spain to Buenos Aires in 1926, one of the collection's best-known pieces. Entry is free with an optional small contribution, and it opens Wednesday to Sunday. Luján is about an hour's drive from the capital.
