Seven waterfalls

A chain of seven waterfalls on the slopes of the Puncak mountains at Cisarua, falling through dense pine forest, which visitors climb from one to the next on paths and steps among the trees. The lower falls are the easiest to reach and most visited; the upper ones are prettier and quieter but the path is longer and steeper. At the entrance is a butterfly garden, and under the pines there are places to picnic and sit, and camping spots. The water is very cold, and some visitors bathe in the shallow pools below the falls. It is popular with families staying in the nearby Puncak villas. Entry is a token fee of around twenty thousand rupiah at the local rate, possibly more for foreigners. Paths are slippery after rain, so wear suitable shoes. Come on a weekday morning, and keep to the lower falls with small children. It is close to Taman Safari, so the two fit into one day.

The lower falls, the seventh and sixth, are close and easy; the upper ones need a long, steep climb. With small children, the lower falls and butterfly garden are enough.
