A theme park and zoo in one at Walt Disney World. It was the largest theme park in the world when it opened, covering 230 hectares, welcomed 8.8 million guests in 2024 and is the most visited zoo in the world. Its icon is the Tree of Life, an artificial baobab 44 metres tall with hundreds of animals carved into its trunk and branches. The park sits on the western edge of the resort, away from the others, to keep the animals undisturbed, which is why it has no fireworks. It holds hundreds of live animals in natural settings: visitors ride the Kilimanjaro Safaris among lions, giraffes and elephants, and there is the artificial Mount Everest with its fast train and the world of Pandora, based on «Avatar», with its floating mountains. One-day, one-park tickets vary by date and start from about $129–139 before tax, per visitor guides. The animals are most active in the morning, so start with the safari at opening; the park usually closes earlier than the others.
