The best-known amusement park around Bangkok, opened in 1993 in Pathum Thani province north of the capital, where Thai families and visitors spend a whole day of rides and shows in a calmer, less crowded setting than the global theme parks. It is divided into themed zones: Dream Garden with lakes and bridges, Fantasy Land with its fairy-tale castle, and Adventure Land with roller coasters and water rides. Its best-known attraction is Snow Town, a chilled indoor hall with real snow where children play and slide on sledges, a striking experience in a tropical country, plus a Hollywood-style action show with effects. Tickets come as entry-only or all-rides; the all-rides ticket is about twelve hundred baht, cheaper booked ahead. It opens at ten in the morning, staying open into the evening at weekends. Bring a light warm layer for Snow Town, or rent one there. Heat and humidity peak from March to May, and afternoon downpours are heavy from June to October. It is about an hour by car from central Bangkok, traffic permitting. Ask about halal food at the park's restaurants.
