Drilon is a park of springs and clear streams just east of the town of Pogradec on the Albanian shore of Lake Ohrid, about 32 km north of Korçë in a straight line. Its waters run through a network of channels before flowing into the lake. The springs at Drilon and nearby Tushemisht are among the most important sources of groundwater feeding Lake Ohrid on the Albanian side. The lake is linked to the higher Lake Prespa through karst formations beneath the mountains: Prespa's water travels through underground channels and emerges at springs, Drilon among them, before it reaches Ohrid. The streams run calm and clear between rows of weeping willows and tall poplars. White swans and ducks glide on the water, and small painted wooden boats line the banks. Green lawns, walking paths and wooden footbridges spread between the channels, and in spring the trees turn a bright fresh green. Visitors stroll the paths between the streams, feed the swans, sit at the restaurants and cafés along the banks, and some take out the small boats. It is quiet on weekdays and easy to combine with the Pogradec lakefront and Lake Ohrid nearby.
