A viewpoint on the shore of a quiet lake ringed by hills and forest on the road between Munnar and Top Station, famous for its natural echo: a shout comes back clearly from the hills opposite, and visitors compete to call out and listen. Tall trees and green meadows surround the lake, the hills are mirrored in the water on clear days, and you can take a small boat or walk the shore in the cool, fresh mountain air. The road there passes tea estates and viewpoints, and most tours combine Echo Point with Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake in one trip; local vendors sell spices, homemade chocolate and roasted corn. Visiting is free or costs a nominal fee depending on the season, and boats are ticketed separately. Mornings, before the mist arrives, are best, and it's busy on holidays.
