The second park at Walt Disney World, opened on 1 October 1982 and often described as a «permanent world's fair» celebrating human achievement in technology and culture. Its name comes from the «Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow» that Walt Disney dreamed of. Its icon is Spaceship Earth, a huge silver geodesic sphere at the entrance, inside which a ride tells the story of human communication from the first writing to the computer, surrounded by pavilions on science, nature and space. Around a wide lagoon stretches World Showcase, with pavilions for different countries through their architecture, restaurants and shops, including the Morocco pavilion with its carved gates and tiled fountain, along with Japan, China, Italy, France and more, and the night ends with fireworks over the lagoon. One-day, one-park tickets vary by date and start from about $129–139 before tax, per visitor guides. EPCOT is known for its world cuisine, including Arab and Moroccan options; ask about halal at each restaurant.
