The first Ferrari-branded theme park in the world and the largest covered park anywhere — its vast red roof is visible from the air on the approach into Abu Dhabi. Being entirely covered and air-conditioned is its decisive advantage in this climate: you can spend a full day here in August without stepping into the heat, which no open-air park in the Gulf can offer. Its most famous ride is Formula Rossa, the fastest rollercoaster in the world — reaching two hundred and forty kilometres an hour in about five seconds, with protective goggles compulsory because the speed would otherwise injure your eyes. The experience is very short and very intense, and anyone who would not enjoy that should skip it without embarrassment. There is also Flying Aces, with the world's highest rollercoaster loop, and Turbo Track, alongside a great many gentler rides for small children, driving simulators, a museum of historic Ferraris, and a walk-through model of the Maranello factory. The mix is its real strength: extreme rides for adults and calm ones for young children in one building, so it works for a whole family. A full day is realistic and four hours is the minimum. Tickets are cheaper booked online, and combined tickets with the neighbouring water parks are available.

Yes, which surprises people who assume it is only about speed. The children's section is large and its rides gentle, and the simulators and workshops hold them for hours. The extreme rides have strict height limits, so smaller children could not board them anyway.
Two comfortable days: Ferrari World for one and the water parks for another. With only one day, pick one rather than splitting — both are large, moving between them eats the day, and neither ticket gets used properly.
