Flowerpot Island is a small island in Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada, part of Fathom Five National Marine Park. It is about 2.1 km long and 1.5 km wide, and it is known for two rock pillars on its eastern shore that look like flower pots. The pillars are sea stacks, formed over many years as wind, rain, waves and ice wore away a cliff that once stood here. A third pillar fell in 1903. The island has hiking trails, a campground and an old lighthouse, and visitors reach it by boat from the town of Tobermory. You see two grey limestone pillars, wider at the top than the bottom and topped with green shrubs, standing at the edge of clear blue water. Thick cedar and pine forest covers the cliff behind them, and flat white pebbles and a wooden dock line the shore. It is about 6 km from Tobermory in a straight line. The water is very cold even in summer, and boats run from spring to autumn.
