**A very small fishing harbour in northern Ithaca — a few buildings, a windmill and some boats** — five minutes from Kioni. **Yes — but as part of an evening, not as a destination in itself.** ✅ **What it gives**: **genuine quiet** — Frikes is among the quietest things you will find in summer Greece, **even in August**; **tavernas directly on the water** at lower prices than Kioni; **and a sunset** over the sea from the quay. ⚠ **What it does not give**: **nothing to visit**. No archaeological site, no museum, no sandy beach, no shops and no nightlife — **anyone arriving expecting a programme will leave within ten minutes**. ✅ **The right use**: **make it the first stop of a northern evening** — arrive at sunset, sit on the quay with a drink, **then move to Kioni for dinner** (five minutes). ✅ **Or the reverse**: a quiet lunch in Frikes, **then Kioni in the evening** when the yachts come in. ✅ **A practical advantage**: **seasonal ferries** run from here to Lefkada and Kefalonia — **useful if you are combining the Ionian islands**, ⚠ **but the timetable shifts**, so check and do not build a flight time on it.
