An area of red Danxia landforms between Suxian District and Zixing in Chenzhou, covering about 50 km², its name meaning «high chair ridge»; cliffs of red sandstone alternate with small green lakes. Walking paths run along the edges of bare red rock above the lakes, bringing out the sharp contrast between the red stone and the green of water and trees, and the tops give wide views over the valleys; it is one of the finest walking areas in southern Hunan. Tickets cost CNY 95 including the shuttle bus, open from 7 am to 7 pm from late April to early October and 8 am to 6 pm the rest of the year, last entry more than an hour before closing, per visitor guides; some paths are steep and need good shoes.
