No — it is short and fairly easy, about twenty minutes. But it is earth, uneven, with a gentle climb and tree roots, and gets slippery after rain. It is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Spring is best: the water is at its strongest after the snowmelt and the wild flowers are out. Summer is good because it stays cool, though the flow weakens in dry spells. In winter it can partly freeze and the path becomes risky.
By car to the Geroldsau car park then on foot, or by local bus from central Baden-Baden, about twenty minutes, stopping near the start of the path. The route is signposted.

The Geroldsau Waterfall is a small fall in a narrow valley in the Black Forest south of Baden-Baden. The water drops about ten metres between mossy rocks under dense trees, and the spot stays cool and damp even at the height of summer. You reach it on a short walk from the car park or bus stop, roughly twenty minutes on an earth path beside the stream. The walk is easy but uneven, and can be slippery after rain. It is free and always open, and among the simplest ways to see Black Forest scenery without a long expedition.
