Ġnejna Bay is on the west coast of Malta, about a kilometre from the village of Mġarr and 16 km west of Valletta in a straight line. It is a popular destination with a mostly sandy beach. The bay is known for its striking clay slopes and limestone cliffs, which form its headlands, and one of Malta's few remaining perennial freshwater springs runs through the protected valley of Wied il-Ġnejna. The bay's fishermen use traditional methods such as attracting fish with lamps at night, and an old watchtower stands on a tall rocky outcrop above the bay. The golden sandy beach curves around clear blue water, framed by terraced clay slopes and high cliffs. From the hills above, farming terraces and neighbouring bays come into view. Visitors swim and relax on the beach, walk the path to the watchtower and onto the slopes for the view, and some continue to nearby Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa. Sunsets here are lovely.
