The Gorges de la Diosaz is a deep rock cleft carved by a mountain river in the Chamonix valley near the town of Servoz — visited on wooden walkways and suspended bridges fixed directly to the gorge walls, above rushing water and waterfalls dropping from above in a scene whose power surprises. A safe tourist path prepared since the nineteenth century (visited by writers and poets) yet keeping its full wildness. The walk is an hour uphill among rock, water and forest to the upper Cascade des Danses, returning the same way. A pure nature experience completing the Chamonix mountains — a gentler alternative to the high peaks for those wanting beauty without cable car or altitude. A half-day trip from Chamonix (about 15 minutes) suiting families — but the path is steps and climbing, and walking shoes are essential.
