A mountain area at the southern foot of Yuntai Mountain in Lianyungang, a 5A scenic area covering more than 84 square kilometres with 136 peaks, the highest being Yunü Peak at 624.4 m, the highest point in Jiangsu province, from which sea fog and sunrise over the sea can be seen. Many scholars regard it as the original of the «Mountain of Flowers and Fruit» in the novel «Journey to the West», home of the Monkey King, and its best-known sight is the Water Curtain Cave, named after his home in the novel. Many monkeys live along its paths and come close to visitors. Tickets cost about CNY 100 in season and 50 in winter, and it is open from 8 am to 5.30 pm from March to November and to 4 pm in winter, per visitor guides. Don't feed the monkeys, and keep your belongings close.
