A modern yacht harbour in the heart of Hurghada, wrapped in a broad pedestrian area that is one of the city's nicest places for a stroll, between the old El Dahar district and Sakala, a few steps from Al-Mina Grand Mosque. A paved promenade runs the length of the harbour, lined with restaurants, cafés, sweet and ice-cream shops and stores in colourful Mediterranean-style buildings overlooking rows of moored yachts and sailing boats. It is calm by day, then fills in the evening with families and visitors who come to dine by the water and walk in the sea breeze, as the lights of restaurants and yachts shimmer on the surface. From the end of the harbour there is a lovely view of Al-Mina Mosque. Strolling is free, and its restaurants cost more than the city average. Some boat trips and private yachts to the islands and reefs leave from the marina.
