Hyams Beach is a seaside village and beach on Jervis Bay in New South Wales, about 180 km south of Sydney. It is known for its clear turquoise water and dazzling fine white sand of pure quartz, which squeaks underfoot. The village lies between two other beaches, Chinamans Beach to the north and Seamans Beach to the south, with Hyams in the middle. Jervis Bay National Park borders it to the north and Booderee National Park and Botanic Gardens to the south, so plants, animals and birds abound. The beaches face east towards the Pacific. You see snow-white sand, water in two shades of pale turquoise and deep blue, and flat rocks near the shore under the clear water. Green gum trees lean over the sand, the bay's headland lines the horizon, and dolphins may appear in the water. It is about 7 km from the town of Huskisson in a straight line. It gets very busy in summer and holidays, and parking is limited.
