Ilha de Santo Aleixo is a small private island off the coast of Sirinhaém, south of Porto de Galinhas. Its best-known beaches are Pernambucanos, with a beach bar, and the quieter Holanda, and a story is told of a Spanish ship wrecked nearby in 1527. Boats from the Sirinhaém pier take about a quarter of an hour, for about R$110-150 return; from Porto de Galinhas add about R$90 for the transfer to the pier, plus an environmental fee of about R$30. Visitors are limited to eighty a day, so book ahead. The beach bar serves alcohol.
