The regional museum of Inner Mongolia in Hohhot, which moved in 2007 into a modern building ten times larger than the old one at the junction of Xinhua East Street and the East 2nd Ring Road; a station on Metro Line 1 serves it. It shows the history and traditions of the Mongolian people and nomadic life: saddles, costumes, archery and polo gear and a Mongolian ger, and it is known for its large collection of fossils, including dinosaurs and feathered dinosaurs and a complete woolly rhinoceros skeleton found in a coal mine near Manzhouli, along with a hall on the Chinese spacecraft that launch from and land in Inner Mongolia. Entry is free with a booking; it is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm and closed on Mondays except public holidays, per visitor guides.
