Itacarezinho Beach, 15 km south of Itacaré, has a diminutive name but in fact runs 3.5 km of sand among coconut palms; its northern end is known as Camboinha. It is good for swimming, surfing and long walks on the sand. Its loveliest feature is a small waterfall that drops out of the forest straight onto the sand, forming a pool of fresh water at the edge of the sea. There is a restaurant and a bar on the beach, and otherwise it stays wild and quiet. You reach it by trail from the neighbouring beaches, or by the road towards Ilhéus across private land: entry on foot is free, while cars pay for parking or a day-use package at the restaurant. Bring your own water, as facilities are few.
