The Janela do Céu, «Window of the Sky», is the best-known view in Ibitipoca State Park: a small waterfall slipping over a rock rim that looks like an infinity edge, with the mountains of the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais beyond it. The trail is 16 km there and back and passes the Ibitipoca peak, the Três Arcos and Fugitivos caves and the Rio Vermelho. Only 240 of the park's 1,000 daily visitors may continue to the Janela, starting between 7:00 and 9:00 only, so arrive early. The park fee is R$34; carry water and food for a full day on foot.
