Canada's longest and highest guided aerial tramway, climbing in about seven minutes up the side of Whistlers Mountain near Jasper to an upper station at more than 2,260 metres, above the treeline among rocks and alpine meadows. From the upper station there is a wide view over the town of Jasper, the Athabasca River valley, coloured lakes and range upon range of mountains, and on clear days Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, tens of kilometres away. From the station a steep trail of about a kilometre climbs to the summit of Whistlers Mountain, for those who can walk in the thin air. There is a restaurant with a view at the station. Visitors may see the hoary marmots whose whistles give the mountain its name. The tram runs from mid-April to late October 2026, weather permitting, and tickets are about C$78 per adult per visitor guides. The summit is much colder than the town, so bring a jacket even in summer.
