One of Manado's most prominent and most photographed landmarks, a huge statue of Christ with open arms, leaning forward as if flying over the city, erected in 2010 on a hill in a residential estate in south Manado and counted among Asia's largest Christian statues. Manado is a largely Christian city, and the statue is its emblem. It can be seen from many parts of the city and from a viewpoint on the facing hill, and is most striking at sunset and at night when it is lit. Around it are views over the city and bay. It is free and sits inside a residential estate, so come by car and avoid stopping in the narrow roads. It is a short stop for photos and for understanding the city's identity and diversity, and can be seen on the way to the Minahasa highlands.
