A small island in Dongting Lake west of Yueyang, 0.96 km² with a highest point of 63.5 m and 72 little hills across it. In ancient times it was called Xiang Mountain and Dongting Mountain, and it faces the famous Yueyang Tower across the water. Its name is linked to the legend of the two consorts of the mythical Emperor Shun, said to have wept for him here until their tears spotted the bamboo, hence the «Xiang consorts' bamboo» with its mottled stems that grows on the island, where their tomb also stands. The island grows Junshan Yinzhen, a yellow tea counted among China's ten famous teas. Tickets cost CNY 78, open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm in summer and to 5 pm in winter, per visitor guides; visitors reach it by road over a causeway bridge or by boat.
