A small hill by the sea at the southern end of Hua Hin beach, called Monkey Mountain by visitors for the many monkeys living on it. On its seaward slope stands a large golden standing Buddha facing the water, and at the top a temple reached by road or stairs. From the top there is a wide view over the whole arc of Hua Hin beach up to the town in the north, and Khao Tao beach to the south. The golden statue against the sea is one of Hua Hin's most photographed sights, especially in the morning. The visit is free and it is open in daytime; modest dress is required at the temple. The monkeys are very bold and snatch food, glasses and bags, so keep everything out of sight and do not feed them. Make it an afternoon outing with the beach; you can drive or walk up the hill. Below it are simple seafood restaurants on the beach.

They are bold rather than aggressive, but may bite if provoked or if they see food. Do not feed them, keep belongings in a closed bag, and watch children.
