Koh Chang's best-known and most accessible waterfall, in the forest behind Klong Prao beach, within Mu Ko Chang Marine National Park, which covers the island and dozens of small islands around it. The water drops from a high rock face among the trees into a wide, clear pool between boulders, where visitors swim with small fish around them. A shaded path of about six hundred metres leads from the entrance along the stream between rocks and roots; it is easy for most of the way but slippery after rain. Below the falls flat rocks make good seats, and the pool's depth varies, so take care with children. The park fee is about two hundred baht per foreign adult and one hundred per child, the same ticket covers a second park waterfall on the same day, and it opens from about eight in the morning until half past four, with a small parking fee. Do not leave food out because of the monkeys. The falls are strongest at the end of the rainy season, from October to December, and weaken a lot late in the dry season. Come in the morning before the crowds, with modest swimwear and shoes that grip on rock.
