One of Krabi's most famous and beautiful islands and the icon of the «Four Islands» tour: a small forested island with soft white sand and clear turquoise water, and in front of its beach a towering limestone pinnacle rising from the sea like a tower, an image that has become a symbol of Krabi tourism. Tours usually stop at Poda for swimming and relaxing on the sand under the trees, then continue to Chicken Island with its rock shaped like a chicken's head, Tup Island, joined to another by a sandbar that emerges at low tide, and Phra Nang beach at Railay. The water is calm and shallow, suitable for children for most of the season. The island is within a national park, and the entry fee for foreigners is about four hundred baht per adult, paid once a day and often not included in the tour price. Longtail boats reach it from Ao Nang beach in about twenty minutes. May to October is the Andaman rainy season, when the sea is rough and boat trips may be cancelled. Come early in the morning before the big tour boats, and bring reef-safe sun cream and plenty of water.
