Kolešino Falls is a gentle waterfall above the village of Kolešino in the Municipality of Novo Selo, in the southeast of North Macedonia. It drops 19 m over cliffs inside a forest on Mount Belasica, and is one of the region's main natural sights, a good choice on hot days. It comes from the Baba River at an elevation of 610 m, spreading into several streams over the cliffs before joining again below. Its strength changes with the seasons: fine streams may freeze in winter and rush more powerfully after spring rain. The site is open year round, and the municipality continues to develop its facilities. An easy shaded path among the trees leads to it, crossing the stream on timber bridges, with benches, a covered gazebo and places to picnic and grill. At the base a timber platform gives a view of the falls, surrounded by ferns and mossy rocks, and the air cools as you approach the water. It is about 30 minutes by car from Strumica, and visitors put the walk at about 20 minutes uphill. Smolare Falls is 7.7 km away in a straight line, so both fit in one day. Wear suitable shoes, as the rocks can be slippery, and stay behind the barriers. Spring is the best time for strong water.
