A wide tufa cascade on the Trebižat river in the heart of Herzegovina, about 10 kilometres south of Ljubuški and 40 kilometres south of Mostar. It is about 25 metres high, and its water pours in many ribbons through moss and plants into a green lake with a radius of about 120 metres. The falls are built of tufa, limestone that settles out of the water over time, forming tiers and curtains of water wrapped in thick woodland. It is one of the country's most popular places for swimming and picnics, with cafés, restaurants and picnic areas, and it draws crowds in summer. The falls are at their fullest in spring, when the flow is strongest and the dry land around turns green. Adult tickets are 20 KM all year, with children under 7 free, according to the official site. It opens daily from 7:00, until 17:00 in winter and 22:00 from June to September. Swimming is at your own risk, and parking costs 3 KM an hour. Visitors come by car or on an organised tour from Mostar.
