Ksar Hadada is a village in southeast Tunisia, in the Ghomrassen delegation of Tataouine Governorate, about 23 km northwest of Tataouine in a straight line. It had about 1,100 people in the 2014 census. A mountain range surrounds the village, which also has a valley 25 to 50 metres deep called Gattar, and many fossils have been found around it. The climate is semi-arid, with the Sahara only fifty kilometres away; summer days can reach 48 °C and winter nights drop to 0 °C. The village is known as a filming location for a 1999 Star Wars film. The ksar is made of rows of long vaulted rooms of stone and mud, called ghorfas, once used as grain stores. The rooms are stacked in tiers around inner courtyards, reached by narrow outside stairways, their warm earthy colour set against the blue desert sky. Visitors wander the courtyards among the vaulted rooms and photograph the stairways and facades. The ksar lies on southern Tunisia's ksar trail, so visitors combine it with Ksar Ouled Soltane, Douiret and Chenini.
