The SkyView observation deck at the top of Landmark 81, at 461 metres the tallest building in Vietnam, on the Saigon River just north of the city centre. Opened in 2019, the deck spans floors 79 to 81, between 370 and 383 metres up, the highest viewpoint in the country. Beyond the glass walls the whole city spreads out below: the bends of the Saigon River, the towers of District 1, the new Thu Thiem district across the water and, on clear days, the flat green land stretching towards the Mekong Delta. The tower's stepped shape was inspired by a bundle of bamboo stems, a Vietnamese symbol of strength. The tower stands in the Vinhomes Central Park development, with a large shopping mall at its base and a riverside park beside it. Come shortly before sunset to see the city by day and by night in one visit; weekday tickets are cheaper than weekend ones.
