A private garden built by Xie Weili, a local man who returned from America, begun in 1926 and finished in 1936, blending Chinese and Western styles in both its houses and its grounds; it is now a protected monument of Guangdong province. The garden is divided into the villa area and the large and small gardens, separated by canals and walls and linked by bridges and corridors. The villa area holds six houses and one tower, the finest being Panli Lou of 1931, with a Chinese roof of glazed tiles over Ionic and Corinthian columns, Western fireplaces and bathrooms inside that were rare at the time, and layered doors and windows against thieves. Visitors wander between the houses, canals and stone bridges and find small models of diaolou towers in the garden. Tickets cost about CNY 100, the garden is open from 8.40 am to 5.45 pm, and a joint ticket with Zili Village costs CNY 150, per visitor guides.
